What doctors actually want from patient-side AI

Not a diagnosis engine. A patient who arrives organised. What clinicians told us while we were building AYUVA Scribe.

By The AYUVA Team

When we ask clinicians what they want from AI in healthcare, the answer is rarely 'help me diagnose.' Diagnosis is the part of the job they trained a decade for, and the part they trust least to a model. What they actually want is smaller, and far more achievable: less time lost to logistics.

The three things clinicians ask for

  • A patient history that's already organised — not a stack of loose reports handed over mid-consultation.
  • Less time on notes. Structured documentation during the visit, not typed up from memory that evening.
  • Fewer no-shows and better-prepared patients, so the appointment slot is used for medicine, not orientation.

Where AYUVA Scribe fits

AYUVA Scribe listens to a consultation and produces structured notes and a draft prescription for the clinician to review and approve — never to submit unreviewed. Every output is a draft. The clinical decision, and the accountability for it, stays exactly where it belongs.

The best compliment a clinician can give an AI tool is 'I didn't notice it.' That's what we're building toward.

On the patient side, the same philosophy applies in reverse: AYUVA prepares patients so clinicians spend consultations diagnosing and treating, not reconstructing a history that already exists somewhere in a drawer.
